refinish fiberglass tub
How can I refinish a fiberglass tub?

I have an old fiberglass tub / surround sound combo and the bottom surface is covered with micro cracks or crazing. The cracks are just big enough to pick up dirt and traces looks unclean. I hate to replace the tub, as for the labor market in a new spacious facility for the cost. Is there a coat that I can apply that will restore the original finish, or a method polishing that he does not go beyond the outer layer and the fiberglass? The problem is really limited to the bottom and about 2 inches on the sides.

I'm not sure how picky you want to be at the finish … It appears this may be difficult to get a beautiful Smooth finish. This web page looks http://homeimprovement.lovetoknow.com/How_to_Refinish_a_Bathtub useful. And this kit seems promising http://www.tubbyusa.com/home/tub/smartlist_1/product_catalog.html, but a home improvement store may have something as well. In addition, another site I found recommended having a professional do the work because you can usually get it done for $ 100 to $ 300 and the results would more than likely be better than you do yourself. Hopefully whether they are professionals.
